The long-time iconic San Francisco skate spot, Hubba Hideout, is being destroyed. According to city employees who were on hand yesterday erecting fences around the area, the retaining wall ledges that have been a part of street-skating’s history since the early ’90s are scheduled for removal today. The spot’s top ledge was ripped out yesterday. The city has made many attempts to stop the fun at Hubba by installing benches against the ledge on both sides and installing metal skate stoppers (both which skaters have worked around) in addition to patrolling the area by the local police department.
It will be very sad to see this ledge go, but will always remain as one of the legendary spots similar to the removal of the San Dieguito ten-stair handrail (remember?). Let’s remissness with some of the greatest tricks thrown down on the infamous Hubba Hideout.
This is a damn shame, Hubba is irreplaceable.
Really good know-how! I have been browsing for some thing like that for a time now. Regards!
